Thesis Submission Guidelines and Policies: Print copies

Many departments require a Senior Thesis, Capstone or Final Project as part of graduation requirements. This guide details how to submit these materials to Digital CC, the College's digital repository.

Bound Print Theses

Bound Print Theses for Department, Library and Personal Use

All print copies of theses to be sent to the Bindery should be submitted to the student’s Department Coordinator, along with a Bindery Information Form for each copy submitted. The Department Coordinator will deliver the theses to Chris Curcio (x6663) in the library, who will send them to the bindery in Nebraska.  The library will charge back departments $10 each for department and student copies.

All theses should include a title page that includes the following: title, department, degree, author, Colorado College and graduation date. Sample title page

Department print copy

Because theses will be readily available on Digital CC, many departments may wish to reevaluate whether bound, print departmental copies are still desired. However, if a department wishes to continue binding copies of theses, the cost to the department is $10 per theses and will be charged via journal entry along with any charges for personal copies.

The Department Coordinator is responsible for checking that the thesis meets department requirements. The library will not check for errors. Re-dos are done at the expense of the department. The department copies to be bound should be delivered to Chris Curcio (x6663) in the library, who will send them to the bindery in Nebraska.

Each department thesis copy must be accompanied by a completed Thesis Bindery Information Form.

Each department has been pre-assigned a particular color for the cover binding and the spine stamp.

Department coordinators will be notified when the bound theses have returned from the bindery and are ready for pick-up.

Student personal print copies

If students desire personal copies of their thesis bound, bindery charges are $10 per copy, payable to their department. The library will not check for errors. This is the responsibility of the student. We recommend that you use the checklist on the Bindery Information Form to make certain you have used correct margin sizing, have a complete title page, and that all pages are included and are in order. Re-dos are done at the expense of the student.

When bound theses return from the bindery, the department will deliver or mail personal copies to students. Students should make sure that their Department Coordinator has a current mailing address before leaving campus.

Submit a Thesis Bindery Information Form attached to each personal copy you are submitting.

Standard binding for student copies is black with gold lettering.

The library will charge back departments $10 each for student copies.

Student authors interested in having customized binding can make direct arrangements to have their thesis bound. Most thesis binding companies accept electronic submission, and payment can be made with a credit card. This list is an unendorsed suggestion of companies:

PhD Book Binding
Acme Book Binding
Long’s Roullet Bookbinders

Library print copy

If you submit your thesis electronically (see department links at the top), the library will preserve your thesis in perpetuity, and a printed copy is NOT needed. However, if you are not submitting your thesis electronically, please DO submit a printed copy for the physical library collection.

Although it is the responsibility of the student to submit their thesis in accordance with the checklist on the Bindery Information Form (correct information on the title page, specified margin sizes, and that all pages are included and in order), the Department Coordinator needs to double-check that these guidelines have been met before delivering the theses to Chris Curcio in the Library. The Library will double-check for errors before shipping them to the bindery. If any are found, the theses will be returned to the Department Coordinator.

Each Library thesis copy must be accompanied by a completed Thesis Bindery Information Form.

Requests After Graduation
